okay, so maybe this one isn't directly about the G1, but it is a comparison of an iPhone feature to a G1 feature, so

. As you all know by now, the iPhone's primary music app is iTunes and the the G1 uses Amazon MP3. Does one have an advantage over the other?
The main boating point Amazon MP3 has is that it uses an MP3 format and is DRM free. DRM, or digital rights management, is the access control mechanism that restricts iTunes ACC files to only being played on iTunes on a specific device. Amazon files will play on any device. In additon, Amazon MP3 purchases are cheaper, beginning around .89 and album purchases beginning at 5.99
iTunes sports a bigger catalog - over 6 million artists compared to 2 million on Amazon - so you are definitely more likely to find whatever you are looking for on the iTunes app.
As far as I know, there is no video available on Amazon and I've heard no news about plans to release videos on the online store or creation of a seperate video store, but if that happens, iTunes will definitely have some serious competition on its hands.
