Methinks the answer is no. I noticed an app called video recorder and decided to give it a shot. I downloaded it and clicked the icon, which invoked the camera. I clicked record... nothing happened. It force closed several times and on few occasions would not disengage the camera after I pressed the home button. As the old saying goes - close, but no cigar.
