The HTC Touch Pro is available on Sprint, AT&T (under a different name) and Verizon... if I had to guess you were using Verizon because Verizon hates there customers and sells there own GPS software for $10 a month and usually blocks 3rd party GPS Software, let me know if you are on a different carrier and are still having issues
