Best Network To Unlock 1 Year, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi
I'm looking to get the Nokia 5310 - probably from the carphone warehouse: http://shop.carphonewarehouse.com/pay-as-you-go/nokia/5310-red/

unlocked phones are stupidly expensive when it can be done usually for a small price, though I know that the 5310 is more difficult to unlock, having looked on the usual free unlocking sites.

I can get the phone on t mobile for £70, virgin and vodafone £80 orange £90 and o2 £100. The thing is that I don't really care what network it's on as I'm going to unlock it straight away and switch to blyk. (woohoo free texts and minutes!)

I unlocked my current virgin mobile for £15 - that's the only price I know. Basically I was wondering if any of you have had any experience with unlocking on the various networks and have a suggestion? The phone I unlocked still doesn't work on orange but it did on blyk and obviously still on virgin...the unlock partially worked!

My ideal is to have the 5310 running on virgin and blyk through the use of a dual sim card holder I bought.

Current phone: HTC monet/lobster 700tv - love the fact I paid £50 and got a smartphone! But it doesn't work with blyk

Thanks in advance for any help!
phil

I wish I could help in the US we actually don't have any networks like Blyk... seems like a pretty cool concept of giving away phone for advertising... it reminds me of the free internet plans from Juno/NetZero in the 90s. Sorry I can't really answer your question, I just thought the Blyk network was a fascinating experiment. This site is still being built up, so hopefully someone stumbles across your question and can help out.

Blyk's Website has an official forum which looks pretty popular http://forum.blyk.co.uk/forums/
